Araw · Filipino for “sun” and “day.”

Araw , The Araw Project

Conversations on a Warming Philippines

Araw builds spaces where people can learn about the climate crisis, process it together, and turn that understanding into meaningful care for each other and the world.

Who we are

Hope is a conversation.

Araw, Filipino for sun and for day, is a community project facilitating meaningful conversations on climate in the Philippines. We host events, make videos, gather volunteers, and write about the small things worth saving.

Climate anxiety is real here, where typhoons and floods are part of daily life. You're not crazy for feeling it. Together, we turn that worry into warmth, learning, and action.

Our four pillars

  • Learn

Foster a deeper appreciation and understanding of climate concepts.

  • Connect

Meaningfully engage with the self, nature, and others.

  • Care

Actionable steps in contributing to local communities.

  • Belong

Become a part of something bigger than yourself.

What we do

Four ways in.

However you show up (curious, worried, hopeful), there’s a doorway here for you.
